Ryeshia Farmer (she/ her)

Community Program Manager

Ryeshia Farmer identifies, first, as a Black-Womxn. Known as "Ry,” she is one of Milwaukee's proudest natives (on down to her Rufus King blue and gold) and a multi-talented Wisconsin leader.

Whether deejaying, reporting for a local publication, or working in the community, Ryeshia remains a reliable thought partner and action taker for all. Her Sagittarius Sun keeps everyone around her honest, as she works with conviction, integrity, and a strong sense of her multifaceted self. To that end, she approaches all of her work with a black-womxnhood, Milwaukee-native lense.

Ryeshia exemplifies what an empowered, politically and civically engaged community member looks like. She's facilitated community conversation and arts programming with Still Waters Collective and the Zeidler Center, worked in the fields of candidate and party electoral campaigns, and built power on issue campaigns for the American Civil Liberties Union and the Human Rights Campaign.

She encourages heart-work in everyone she meets and urges Black diasporic folks in particular to embrace their fullest selves. Sis is DEFINITELY rooting for everybody black!
